Hardware Overview

Hardware Overview is a mini, hardware-store-specific dashboard that sits alongside the main Dashboard. It shows job card counts by status, a low-material-stock alert strip, and a live list of every job that is still open or in progress, so a shop owner can see what work is pending without opening Job Cards.

📍 Menu path: Hardware → Hardware Overview
👤 Who uses it: All roles with the Billing feature enabled

Overview

The page loads job cards and materials in parallel and derives four counts from them: Open Jobs, In Progress, Done Today and Low Stock — nothing is fetched specifically for this page beyond what Job Cards and Material Stock already expose.

It is a read-only summary — there is no add/edit here. Every stat card and the job list are clickable and jump you straight to Job Cards or Material Stock.

This page only exists in the Hardware variant; it is the first item in the "Hardware" section of the sidebar, appended after all the standard pos-app menus.

Before You Start

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Check today's workload at a glance

  1. Open Hardware → Hardware Overview.
  2. The four stat cards show: Open Jobs (awaiting work), In Progress (being worked on), Done Today (jobs marked DONE with an update timestamp matching today) and Low Stock (materials at or below their minimum quantity).
  3. Click any card to jump to the page it summarises — Open Jobs, In Progress and Done Today all open Job Cards; Low Stock opens Material Stock.

2 React to a low-stock alert

  1. If any material is at or below its minimum stock level, a "Low Material Stock" banner appears above the job list, listing each item and its current quantity/unit.
  2. Click through to Material Stock (via the Low Stock stat card) to update quantities or reorder.

3 Review active job cards without opening Job Cards

  1. The "Active Job Cards" panel lists every job that is OPEN or IN_PROGRESS (up to 10), showing job number, customer name, description and a coloured status chip.
  2. If nothing is open or in progress, the panel shows "No active jobs".
  3. Click any stat card above the panel to open the full Job Cards page and act on a specific job (advance status, view details, delete).

Tips & Best Practices

Troubleshooting & FAQ

A job I marked DONE yesterday still shows nothing in "Done Today".
Done Today only counts jobs whose update timestamp is today — jobs completed on a previous day will not appear here even though they remain DONE on the Job Cards page.
The Active Job Cards panel is missing a job I know is open.
The panel only shows the first 10 OPEN/IN_PROGRESS jobs (oldest-first from the underlying list) — open the full Job Cards page and use the status filter chips to see everything.
