Service Menu

Service Menu is where you define every service your salon or spa offers — its category, duration in minutes and price — which then feeds the Service dropdown everywhere else in the app (Appointments, Calendar, Prepaid Packages) and drives appointment auto-fill for duration and amount.

📍 Menu path: Saloon & Spa → Service Menu
👤 Who uses it: All roles with the Billing feature enabled

Overview

Every service has a required Name, a Category (Hair, Color, Spa, Nail, Wax, Facial, Other), a Duration in minutes and a Price. An Active toggle controls whether the service can be selected when booking new appointments.

Services are grouped and displayed by category, each group showing a count of how many services it contains; the category filter chips let you narrow the view to one category or ALL.

Selecting a Service anywhere else in the Saloon module (Appointments, Calendar, Prepaid Packages) looks it up by exact name match against this list to auto-fill duration/price — so renaming a service here does not retroactively relink already-booked appointments (which store their own copy of serviceName/duration/amount).

Before You Start

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Add a new service

  1. Open Saloon & Spa → Service Menu and click "+ Add Service".
  2. Enter Name (required), Duration in minutes and Price.
  3. Choose a Category from Hair, Color, Spa, Nail, Wax, Facial or Other.
  4. Leave Active checked so it is immediately bookable, then click Save.

2 Edit or retire a service

  1. Click Edit on a service card to reopen the form pre-filled with its current values, adjust and Save.
  2. Click the Active/Off pill to quickly toggle a service on or off without opening the edit form — turning it Off hides it from the Service dropdown on Appointments/Calendar/Prepaid Packages without deleting its history.
  3. Click Delete to permanently remove a service after a confirmation prompt.
💡 Prefer toggling Off over Delete for a service you might reintroduce — deleting is permanent and, because past appointments store their own serviceName/duration/amount copy rather than a live reference, deleting a service does not affect historical appointment records either way.

3 Filter by category

  1. Use the category chips (All / Hair / Color / Spa / Nail / Wax / Facial / Other) above the grouped list to narrow to one category at a time.

Tips & Best Practices

Troubleshooting & FAQ

I changed a service's price but an old appointment still shows the old amount.
Appointments store their own Amount at the time of booking — they are not live-linked to the Service Menu row. Editing a service here only changes what auto-fills into new bookings going forward.
A service I turned Off is still showing up when I book an appointment.
Double-check you toggled Active off (not just closed the edit form without saving) — the Appointments/Calendar service dropdowns filter strictly on isActive.
I deleted a service by mistake.
Deletion is immediate and permanent after the confirmation prompt; there is no undo. Past appointments referencing that service name are unaffected since they store their own copy of the name/duration/price.
