Sign Up & Log In

BazaarPOS uses one phone-number account for everything — the exact same sign-up and login screen appears on Windows Desktop, Android, and the web trial. You verify your phone with a one-time code, pick a plan (a free 15-day trial to start), and set a local password so the app keeps working offline afterward.

👤 Who uses it: Anyone signing up for BazaarPOS for the first time, on any platform

Overview

There is no separate "create an account" step per device or per platform — BazaarPOS Desktop, BazaarPOS Mobile (Android) and the web trial all share the exact same phone-number sign-in screen and the exact same account.

Sign-up is phone-based, not email-based: you enter your phone number and country, receive a one-time code (OTP) by SMS, and verify it. There is no separate password to invent at this stage.

If your number has never been seen before, you'll be asked your name and business name, then shown available plans — pick the free trial (15 days) to start using BazaarPOS immediately without paying anything upfront.

After verifying, you set a local password for this specific device. This is what lets the app work fully offline afterward — the one-time code and plan selection only need to happen once per account, not every time you open the app.

BazaarPOS does not give each business its own separate web address (no "yourshop.bazaarpos.in") — everyone signs in through the same shared address. If one phone number is linked to more than one business, you'll be asked to pick which business to open right after verifying, rather than being routed there automatically by a subdomain.

This phone+OTP flow is different from, and unrelated to, the BazaarPOS website's own customer/partner account (used for managing purchased licenses, invoices and partner referral commissions) — that portal signs up with phone + a password you choose, no OTP, and is a separate system from actually using the POS software. If you are trying to log in and use BazaarPOS to bill customers, use the in-app phone+OTP login described here, not the website's account portal.

Before You Start

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Sign up for the free trial

  1. Open BazaarPOS (Windows Desktop, the Android app, or the web trial) and enter your phone number with the correct country selected.
  2. Enter the one-time code sent to your phone by SMS.
  3. Since this is a new number, enter your name and business name, then pick a plan — choose the free 15-day trial to get started without paying anything.
  4. Set a local password for this device when prompted. You're now signed in and ready to use BazaarPOS.

2 Log in again later (same or a new device)

  1. Enter the same phone number and the OTP sent to it.
  2. If this device already has a local password set from before, you may be asked for that instead, without needing a fresh OTP every time.
  3. If you use BazaarPOS on more than one device (e.g. Desktop at the counter and Android on the floor), each device verifies independently the first time, then remembers you.

3 Switch between multiple businesses on one phone number

  1. If your phone number is linked to more than one BazaarPOS business (e.g. you manage two shops), a "select business" step appears right after OTP verification.
  2. Pick the business you want to work in for this session.

4 Understand the difference: POS login vs. the website's account portal

  1. Use the in-app phone+OTP login (covered above) whenever you want to actually bill customers, manage products, or use any part of BazaarPOS day to day — on Desktop, Android, or the web trial.
  2. Use the BazaarPOS website's own account/portal (a separate phone + password sign-up, no OTP) only if you need to manage purchased licenses/invoices, or if you are a referral partner tracking commissions — it does not open the actual POS app.
💡 These are two genuinely different systems built for different purposes; having an account in one does not automatically give you an account in the other.

Tips & Best Practices

Troubleshooting & FAQ

I never received the OTP code.
Double-check the phone number and country code you entered, wait a minute for SMS delivery, and try resending. Numbers registered for Do-Not-Disturb (DND) SMS filters in some regions can occasionally delay promotional-looking messages — waiting briefly and retrying usually resolves it.
My free trial expired — what happens now?
You'll be prompted to choose a paid plan to continue. Your data is not lost — upgrading simply extends access to the business you already set up.
It says I need an internet connection to log in, even though I logged in before.
The very first sign-in on any device needs internet to verify your phone number and license. After that, the app works offline day to day, but periodically (roughly every couple of weeks) it needs a brief internet connection to revalidate your license before letting you back in.
I have two shops — do I need two phone numbers?
No — use the same phone number for both. After verifying the OTP, you'll get a "select business" step to choose which shop to work in for that session.
I signed up on the BazaarPOS website but can't log into the actual POS app with those details.
The website's own account/portal (for managing licenses, invoices or partner commissions) is a separate system from the POS app's login — it uses phone + a password you chose there, with no OTP. To actually use BazaarPOS for billing, use the app's own phone+OTP login screen instead, not your website portal password.
Is there a per-shop web address, like "myshop.bazaarpos.in"?
No — everyone signs in through the same shared BazaarPOS address; a subdomain shown anywhere is only a convenience hint, not a separate login system. Your phone number and the "select business" step determine which shop you land in.
