Combos & Set Menus
Combos & Set Menus builds named bundles — a "Thali", "Value Meal" or "Set Menu A" made up of several products sold together at one bundle price — that add to a bill as a single line item in billing or the waiter app, instead of guests and staff having to add every dish individually.
Overview
A combo has a Name, an optional Description, a bundle Price, and a list of items — each drawn from your product catalogue with its own quantity and an Optional flag (for a "choice of one side" style item).
The item picker searches and filters by category from your live, active product catalogue, so combos always reference real, current menu items.
The page shows the sum of the individual items' normal prices alongside your set bundle Price, making it easy to see (and communicate) the savings a combo offers versus ordering everything separately.
Each combo has an Active toggle — an inactive combo stops appearing for selection in billing/waiter apps without deleting its configuration, useful for a seasonal set menu you'll bring back later.
When a combo is selected at billing or in the waiter app, it adds as one single line item at the bundle price — the kitchen still needs the individual dishes prepared, but the guest sees one bundled entry on their bill.
Before You Start
- You must have the Combos feature enabled on your plan.
- The individual products that make up a combo must already exist and be active in your catalogue before you can add them to a bundle.
Step-by-Step Guide
1 Build a new combo or set menu
- Click "New Combo" and enter a Name (e.g. "Executive Thali") and optional Description.
- Use the item picker to search and add each product that makes up the combo, setting the quantity of each.
- Mark any item Optional if guests get a choice within that slot (e.g. "choice of one dessert").
- Compare the sum of individual item prices (shown automatically) against your intended bundle Price, then set the Price and save with Active turned on.
2 Retire a seasonal combo without losing its setup
- Find the combo in the list and toggle its Active switch off.
- It immediately stops appearing for selection at billing/waiter, while its item list and price stay saved for when you want to bring it back.
3 Update a combo's items or price
- Open the combo and add/remove items via the item picker, or adjust quantities.
- Adjust the bundle Price if the underlying item costs have changed, then save — the update takes effect immediately everywhere the combo is offered.
Every Field & Button, Explained
| Field / Button | What it does |
|---|---|
Combo Name / Description | What the bundle is called and an optional longer description shown to staff/guests. |
Item list (product, quantity, optional) | The individual products that make up the combo, each with its own quantity and an Optional flag for choice-based slots. |
Bundle Price | The single price charged for the whole combo, independent of the sum of its individual items' normal prices. |
Sum of item prices (reference) | A live-calculated total of what the included items would cost individually, shown alongside the bundle Price for comparison. |
Active toggle | Controls whether the combo currently appears for selection at billing/waiter without deleting its configuration. |
Tips & Best Practices
- Compare the auto-calculated sum of individual item prices against your bundle Price before saving, so the discount a combo actually represents is intentional, not accidental.
- Use the Optional flag for "choice of one" slots (e.g. a dessert or drink) rather than creating a separate combo for every possible combination.
- Toggle Active off for seasonal or limited-time set menus instead of deleting them — you keep the exact item list and pricing ready to reuse next season.
