Today's Specials

Today's Specials is where the chef sets up featured dishes for a chosen day — name, description, price, dietary type and quantity available — with a live sold tracker so the whole team can see at a glance what's still available, what's running low and what's already sold out.

Overview

A date picker (defaulting to today) lets you prepare specials in advance for a future day; the board for a given date only shows once you are viewing that date.

Each special has a Dish Name, Description (shown on the QR digital menu), Price, Quantity Available, Category, Station, Dietary Type (Veg / Non-Veg / Vegan / Contains Allergen), an optional Allergen Note, and independent "Show on QR Menu" and "Sold Out" toggles.

A live sold tracker with +/- buttons adjusts quantity sold; the progress bar fills as it sells and turns red once remaining stock drops to 3 or fewer (the low-stock threshold), showing "SOLD OUT" once remaining reaches 0 or the manual Sold Out toggle is switched on.

Sort by Station, Category or Qty Remaining; filter to All, Available or Sold Out.

"Print Board" opens an A5-style printable card listing every currently available special (with description and dietary/allergen info) for a table insert; "All Sold Out" bulk-marks every special on the board sold out in one click.

A stat strip tracks On Board / Available / Sold Out / Low Stock / Showing Online counts.

Before You Start

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Add today's special

  1. Open Today's Specials (date defaults to today) and click "Add Special."
  2. Enter Dish Name, Description, Price and Quantity Available.
  3. Choose Category, Station and Dietary Type, and add an Allergen Note if relevant.
  4. Set "Show on QR Menu" if it should appear on the guest-facing digital menu, then click "Add Special."

2 Track sales through the day

  1. Use the +/- buttons on a special's card to adjust the sold count as orders come in.
  2. Watch the progress bar — it turns red once only a few portions remain.

3 Prep specials for a future date

  1. Change the date picker to the day you're planning for, then add specials exactly as above — they will only show when that date is selected.

4 Wrap up service

  1. Click "All Sold Out" to bulk-mark every special sold out at once, or toggle individual ones as they run out during service.
  2. Click "Print Board" any time to get a printable card of what's currently available.

Every Field & Button, Explained

Field / ButtonWhat it does

Tips & Best Practices

Troubleshooting & FAQ

A special is missing from the printed board.
Print Board only includes specials that are not sold out and still have remaining stock greater than zero for the currently selected date.
The sold count looks wrong after tapping the +/- buttons quickly.
Each click sends an update to the server; if one of those requests fails silently the on-screen count can drift from what's actually saved — refresh the page to resync.
