Covers & Footfall Report
Covers & Footfall Report breaks down covers served per shift — Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon, Dinner — over any date range, with a summary strip and a colour-coded row-by-row breakdown so you can see exactly which service is driving your footfall.

Overview
Select a From/To date range (defaults to the last 7 days) and the report lists covers served per day, split by shift.
Each shift is colour-coded — Breakfast (amber), Lunch (green), Afternoon (indigo), Dinner (blue), with any unclassified service shown as Other — for quick visual scanning across rows.
A summary strip totals covers across the selected range, giving you a single figure alongside the day-by-day and shift-by-shift breakdown.
Before You Start
- You must have the Reports feature enabled on your plan.
- Orders need to be attributable to a shift/time band for the per-shift breakdown to be meaningful.
Step-by-Step Guide
1 Check footfall for a date range
- Open Covers & Footfall Report and set the From/To dates.
- Review the summary strip for total covers, then scan the per-day, per-shift rows for the breakdown.
2 Compare shift performance
- Widen the date range to a month or more.
- Compare the colour-coded shift columns to see whether Lunch or Dinner is consistently your busier service.
Every Field & Button, Explained
| Field / Button | What it does |
|---|---|
From / To | The date range for the report; defaults to the last 7 days. |
Shift colour coding | Breakfast (amber), Lunch (green), Afternoon (indigo), Dinner (blue), Other (muted) — visually separates covers by service. |
Summary strip | Total covers across the entire selected date range. |
Tips & Best Practices
- Use a 30-day range when deciding staffing levels per shift — a single week can be skewed by one unusually busy or quiet day.
- Cross-check this against Hourly Footfall when you need finer granularity than shift-level (e.g. exactly when within Dinner service you peak).
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Some covers are showing under "Other" instead of a named shift.
Those orders don't map cleanly to a defined shift time band — check your shift time settings if this happens frequently.
The report looks empty for a date range I know had guests.
Confirm the From/To dates are correct and that orders in that range were recorded as dine-in covers rather than takeaway/delivery.
