Staff Performance

Staff Performance answers "how did each waiter do today?" — a card per staff member for a chosen date and shift showing covers served, tables handled, revenue generated, average bill value, tips earned and tip %, voids/comps count, average service time and guest feedback score, with a drill-down table-by-table log per person.

📍 Menu path: Staff & HR → Staff Performance
👤 Who uses it: All roles with the Reports feature enabled

Overview

This is a reporting view only — it does not let you edit shifts (that is Staff Roster) or tip amounts (that is Tips); it summarises what already happened.

Cards are sorted by whichever metric you pick (Revenue, Covers, Tips, Voids or Feedback) and show a revenue bar scaled relative to the day's top performer.

A staff member with more than 2 combined voids + comps is flagged with a warning badge instead of the "Clean record" badge.

Clicking a card opens a slide-in drawer with that person's table-by-table log for the selected date/shift — party name, pax, seated/billed times, duration, tip and any voids or feedback per table.

The summary strip totals Staff on Duty, Total Covers, Total Revenue, Tips Distributed and names the Top Performer for the filtered set.

A "Print Day Report" button produces a plain sortable table of every staff member's numbers for the selected date/shift.

Before You Start

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Review today's staff performance

  1. Open Staff & HR → Staff Performance — it opens on today's date and All Shifts.
  2. Optionally filter by Shift (Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night) and choose a Sort option (Revenue, Covers, Tips, Voids, Feedback).
  3. Scan the summary strip for total covers, revenue, tips and the day's top performer.

2 Drill into one waiter's tables

  1. Click any staff card to open the table-by-table drawer for that person.
  2. Review each table's party size, times, duration, bill total, tip and any void/feedback flags.
  3. Click the card again (or the × in the drawer) to close it.

3 Check a past date and print

  1. Change the date picker to any earlier day.
  2. Click "Print" to generate a printable table sorted by revenue for that date/shift.

Tips & Best Practices

Troubleshooting & FAQ

A staff member I know worked today is missing from the list.
This report is driven by sales/table activity recorded against that person for the selected date and shift — if they had no tables or sales attributed to them in that window, they will not have a card to show.
Feedback Score shows no stars for someone.
The star rating only appears once at least one guest feedback entry is linked to that person's tables (feedbackCount > 0); zero linked reviews shows no score rather than a 0-star rating.
Avg Service Time looks unusually high or low.
It is computed from KOT-placed to KOT-served timestamps on that person's tables — a table where the KOT was fired long before the guest actually sat down, or where "served" was marked late, will skew the average for that day.
